Community and Human Rights
Creating value for society
Our commitment is to be an economically viable, socially beneficial and environmentally responsible company.
We are the top exporting company in Andalusia, with an export quota of 50% and a total annual turnover of around 2 billion euros per year.
The impact of our activity is essential to the local and regional economy:
- We generate about 3,000 direct, indirect and induced employment.
- We operate with more than 650 local and regional suppliers, energizing the local business fabric.
- We contribute to the municipality’s financing through the payment of taxes and fees.
- Our reception of raw materials and shipping out of processed products represent an essential part of the Port of Huelva’s activity.
We collaborate economically with non-profit social entities and humanitarian organizations with social purposes that make a significant impact in the area.

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is in our DNA and is part of our strategy, perfectly aligned with the requirements and demands of today’s society.
We have established strong links with associations, entities, organizations and individuals from all social sectors in Huelva, collaborating with them in educational, social, welfare, cultural, sports and environmental projects.
In 2009, we constituted the Atlantic Copper Foundation to serve as a single channel for all external social responsibility activities, and it has become a social reference in Huelva.
We have been a member of the Society and Responsible Company Foundation, SERES, since 2013.
In 2021, we were recognized by Vigeo Eiris, the world leader in ESG evaluations and analysis and a subsidiary of Moody’s Corporation, as the leading Spanish company in the mining-metallurgical sector for environmental, social and governance factors.
We received the Copper Mark certification in December 2020, a new system for ensuring responsible copper production promoted by the International Copper Association (ICA).
Atlantic Copper has voluntarily implemented a Social Responsibility Management System (SRMS) since 2014, certified by AENOR in keeping with the IQNet SR10 standard (which includes all the recommendations of the ISO 26000 standard for Social Responsibility).
