Atlantic Copper has been recognized by the Spanish Association for Standardisation and Certification (AENOR) with the Certification of Protocols against Covid-19, which endorses our good practices in the management of risks deriving from the coronavirus in our workplaces in Huelva and Madrid.
What we do
Thanks to its uses, copper is currently seen as a socially transformative element. And not because of its very important uses in sectors such as construction or transport, digitalization or renewable energy. We are talking about a metal that makes our lives easier and facilitates progress.
Sustainable development
We are preparing for a future in which copper will be one of the materials essential for economic development and social progress. And we are doing this by incorporating sustainability into all our areas of activity and driving innovation, CSR actions and environmental policies.
50 years of history
In 2020, we celebrated the company’s 50th anniversary in Huelva. This half century has given us time to celebrate 10 years of the Foundation’s existence; to create a Copper Interpretative Center; to become the world’s most energy-efficient smelter; or to set records, such as 1,103 Mt of fusion of copper concentrate.
Production process
We produce high quality copper that we sell mainly in the form of electrolytic anodes and cathodes. A great variety of by-products result from the production process, such as sulphuric acid and electrolytic sludge (gold, silver, platinum and palladium), among others.
