Huelva, 27 October 2015. The Andalusian Academy of Social Sciences and the Environment handed out its Awards for Research, Innovation, Development and Corporate Achievement in Andalusia on 27 November in a ceremony at the headquarters of the Cajasol Foundation, where Atlantic Copper was honoured ???for its contribution to innovation and technological development???.
Our President, Javier Targhetta, received the prize from the hands of the president of the Andalusia Council, Susana Díaz. He was accompanied by representatives from this year???s other two award-winning organizations, the University of Cadiz???s Campus de Excelencia Internacional del Mar and the Persán company.
In his acceptance speech, Javier gave ???thanks to the Academy and to Susana Díaz, for their clear commitment to industry in Andalusia, as the driving force behind added value and jobs???, and he supported ???the benefits of cooperation between business and university in the realm of innovation???.
The academy is an independent institution created in 1993 to research, cultivate, teach and divulge social, economic, business and environmental science in Andalusia.
In addition to these awards, the academy???s activities include the annual Francisco de Asís Environment Award and the Andalusian Academic Career Award.
On the panel of judges this year were the president of the Andalusian Academy of Social Sciences and the Environment, Antonio Pascual; the president of the Cajasol Foundation, Antonio Pulido; the president of the Entrepreneurs??? Confederation of Andalusia, Javier González de Lara; the chancellor of the University of Málaga, Adelaida de la Calle; the chancellor of the International University of Andalusia, Eugenio Domínguez; Guillermo Sierra of Caixabank and the former president of the Entrepreneurs??? Confederation of Andalusia, Santiago Herrero, as chairman and secretary of the panel. The academy has already extended its recognition to other companies, including Ayesa, Carbures Europe, Biotic Granada, Airbus Military, Andalucía Tech, Castillo de Canena, AGQ, Labs Technologies Service, Cosentino, the University of Málaga and the University of Seville.
