Diluted Sulphuric Acid and Commercial Gypsum

The scrubbing process yields diluted (20-30% pure) sulphuric acid, which is sent to the gypsum plant, where it is neutralised with calcium hydroxide (slaked lime) to produce commercial-grade calcium sulphate for different uses (see products).
