Training and development are key parts of the company’s ongoing improvement, which is achieved through each of the people who constitute it. In the General Management of Organization and Human Resources we identify talent needs in the short, medium and long term, seeking the professional growth of our employees or incorporating future employees through selection processes.
Training and Professional Development
Training is the foundation of safety
At Atlantic Copper, we have set ourselves a fundamental goal: to train and inform all workers on the subject of safety. And knowledge is the foundation of safe work. Training and development are key tools for having a team that is prepared and has a proactive safety culture that makes it possible to carry out the required functions in the best way every time.
Everyone who comes to our production site to work in some way, whether in internships, service companies, or directly as Atlantic Copper employees, receives training on general plant risks regardless of the functions they will perform.
In the case of the employees, a Training Plan is activated when they are hired that includes general instruction on Principles of Business Conduct and company training (production process, internal rules, etc.) and also a personalized, individual component.
Additionally, and on an annual basis, the Talent Management team – together with each of the areas – draws up an Annual Training Plan, as well as Individual Development Programs that seek to ensure the training necessary for optimal job performance in a safe and effective manner and develop the talent of people with potential to fill other roles or responsibilities.
"Training and development are a strategic priority, and training needs are analyzed and covered in the annual training plan"
Professional training
HR is responsible for managing staffing plans and career development for each employee, which is essential for achieving the company’s objectives. The professional success of our employees is the foundation of our success.
Training and development are a strategic priority for Atlantic Copper, which meets individuals’ training needs through an Annual Training Plan.
The different training activities are complemented by actions focused on the identification and growth of internal talent, establishing mechanisms so that succession, development and career plans are integrated into the daily activities of the company’s senior management.
Training and development activities take place with internal and external resources. Our workers are trained in top-notch institutions such as business schools or specialized educational centers.

Talent identification, planning and disposition
Talent management at Atlantic Copper is key to success. The identification of potential, performance evaluation and organizational needs analysis are aligned through the global training plan and Individual Development Plans. So the organization is supplied with the talent needed to achieve its strategic objectives, and can situate each employee where they generate the greatest value for the company. This way, we shape professional careers internally.
All of this is built on the foundation of an HR policy that is committed to internal promotion, individual development and fomenting employee engagement.
Atlantic Copper generates value by means of a training strategy based on the transfer of know-how and experience – through mentoring programs – and by promoting innovation and new projects and support from external trainers. The latter include prestigious business schools and specialized schools.
Additionally, for Atlantic Copper, the relationship with academic institutions is an inexhaustible source of value creation. Thus, there are multiple forms of interaction and different objectives achieved, including internship programs, teaching in university programs or the FP Dual vocational training program. These are actions that enrich our organization while complementing the training and development of our professionals of the future.
FP Dual
Dual Vocational Training has established itself as one of the training models with the greatest potential to generate talent in the Company and an opportunity to strengthen alliances with centers of specialized knowledge. It is also a way of life, bringing students closer to the values and culture of the company, thus building the long-awaited bridge between teaching and Atlantic Copper. Thus, since our adhesion to the Alliance for DUAL VET in 2017 we have taught four modalities: Industrial Chemistry, Prevention of Professional Risks, Logistics and Transport and Industrial Mechatronics.
