We receive an average of one million tons of copper concentrate each year at our smelter, most of which arrives through the Port of Huelva. We process and transform this raw material following an operating procedure of certified quality, based on sustainability, innovation and energy efficiency. At Atlantic Copper we advocate inclusive and sustainable industrialization, where we apply the best available techniques (BATS) in copper metallurgy.
How We Do It
Raw materials
The basic raw material is concentrated copper ore, which reaches Huelva from mines on several continents.
Metallurgical complex
The Atlantic Copper metallurgical complex is found in Huelva. Using the most cutting-edge technologies and best available techniques (BATs), we transform the raw material into high purity copper cathodes, which represent our main product.
Production process
The copper concentrate we receive at the smelter is subjected to different processes for its enrichment and conversion into our main products: copper cathodes and sulfuric acid.
Marketing and logistics
Our company has a highly diversified portfolio of customers. Sales are distributed almost evenly, with approximately 50% going to the domestic market and another 50% to the international market
