ATLANTIC COPPER

A dynamic, innovative, efficient Company
The leading Spanish copper producer

Innovation

Here, at Atlantic Copper, innovation forms part of our culture. Our Innovation and Technology Department develops, coordinates and participates in projects with different universities and technology centers in Spain, Europe and other parts of the world, such as Canada, Australia and Japan.

Our groundbreaking processes

Atlantic Copper’s industrial activity entails the application of state-of-the-art techniques in copper metallurgy and ongoing research to improve its operations and processes. The use of Best Available Technology (BAT) enables Atlantic Copper, on the one hand, to produce copper competitively, attaining the highest quality standards; and, on the other, to ensure that its business is environmentally friendly in the areas where it undertakes its activity.

Atlantic Copper stays the forefront of technology by collaborating directly with the creators of the processes it uses and in tandem with offering its knowledge and experience through technical assistance to firms in its sector.

It is this constant development that has made our Huelva factory one of the most cutting-edge and technologically-advanced industrial centers in its field in Europe, being able to meet demand for its products and the needs of an increasingly challenging marketplace. Maintaining this position requires an ongoing effort to upgrade, modernize and adapt production facilities to market requirements.

Funded projects

Atlantic Copper never ceases researching in order to improve its operations and processes. Furthermore, it has established cooperation links with universities in order to drive its research work. Since 2013, it has had an Atlantic Copper Chair at the School of Mining of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and, since 2015, a Chair at the University of Huelva.

This concern for being a benchmark in energy efficiency, the environment and production costs, among other aspects, leads the company to invest a significant amount of money every year which, thanks to different public-private collaboration mechanisms, can be partly offset by access to funding.
