Prevention and protection measures
Each area has played a critical role in the identification of risks, implementation of protective measures, supplying of protective material, communication coordination and the availability of remote systems. This protocol has been translated into concrete measures such as the following:
Management of specific risks within the organization
- Employee temperature monitoring.
- Voluntary testing for employees and their families.
- Monitoring and control of all suspected symptomatic cases as well as of their work environment by the Head of the Medical Service.
- Recruitment of 9 clinic assistants and 3 new nurses.
- Implementation of new medical service work procedures.
Cleaning and hygiene practices
- Antiseptic and disinfectants provided to all workers for permanent disinfection of their work stations.
- Disinfection of transit routes; intensified cleaning and disinfection shifts in cafeterias and locker rooms.
- Reinforcement and recruitment of new cleaning companies.
- Provision of protective kits for company employees and contractors.
Organizational and protective measures
- Minimized contact among workers who do their work on the premises.
- Cancellation of face-to-face professional meetings and visits.
- Promotion of telework, adapting schedules.
- Adaptation of study practices and dual vocational training to the online modality.
- Installation of new locker rooms.
- Cafeteria capacity controlled using a scheduling system.
- Placement of screens in all work stations where this is possible, as well as in the cafeterias.
Internal communications
Atlantic Copper assigned a fundamental role to internal training and communication, something particularly relevant for the success of remote working and for disseminating information on new measures in place and other news during management of the crisis. This enabled us to design an effective and robust communication system, using new channels and tools to ensure that company workers received information during the pandemic.
